About Susie
Susie Edwards was a former WAFF 48 News Reporter in Huntsville, AL, whose career led her to a dream job at WWL-TV in New Orleans. In September of 2009, she was diagnosed with liver cancer that eventually spread to her lungs. Less than 14 months later, Susie asked if she could go to the beach one last time. She knew the clinical trials were no longer working. Sadly, Susie died on December 29, 2010, before we were able to fulfill her final wish.
Today, our wish is that no one with a life threatening illness and their families experience what we went through. In life, Susie inspired so many others. In death, Susie’s Wish will provide the donations necessary to send someone on a trip to the beach.
Susie may not have been able to sit in the sun and dip her toes in the sand one last time, but through Susie’s Wish, we can help make this happen for other families.
